Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC)

A key part of supporting children effectively with their personal development, is our provision of high quality spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) experiences and opportunities. These are embedded in our curriculum, and also provided as enrichment opportunities e.g. clubs, visitors, visits, engaging with the local and wider community through such as church events and  festivals.

The intended impact is that these opportunities, integral to our curriculum provision, inspire and celebrate talents, as well as providing the children with additional enjoyment of, and engagement in, experiences that they may not otherwise have.  These opportunities support the development of the whole child by enabling a deeper understanding of the world through social, moral, spiritual and cultural learning and experiences and teaching children essential life skills.

Below, you can see how SMSC is embedded in our curriculum, through the SMSC curriculum map, and there is also an example of the SMSC opportunities provided in the last academic year.

"Thank you for all the hard work you all put in, our daughter settled into the school really well and we know that’s down to you all."
